OUR EXCURSIONS
Bike path along the River Mincio, from Peschiera to Borghetto :An enchanting flat and paved path in a wonderful secluded spot where you will discover noiselessly glimpses of unblemished environment and reach the beautiful medieval village. Find the best time to visit one of the nicest villages in Italy with its small streets, the Castle, the famous bridge and to stop in one of the most renowned restaurants on the water (specialities: tortellini of Valeggio).
Road passable by bike starting from Peschiera through the Lugana wineyards :A series of alternative roads where you will not find so many traffic will let you enjoy the beauty of the landscape with the Lugana wineyards around you. Along the route you can find some wine cellars. Well-recommended a visit to the Tower of San Martino (historical site), which offers you a beautiful view from its top of the plain in the southern area of the Lake, the Museum and the Charnel House.
Castellaro Lagusello :Enchanting medieval village among moraine hills where you can admire a nice and small heart-shaped lake, the Castle and last but not least the streets of the centre. Easily accessible also by bike, you can take a break in the famous wine-tasting bar or in the several typical restaurants.
Cableway from Malcesine to the top of Monte Baldo :If you prefer to stay away from the lake heat we suggest you to take a trip to the mountains. You will have the opportunity to find several trails for walking which surely will whet your appetite, so you can taste mountain delicaties in the shepherd's huts. With clear blue sky you will enjoy an awful view.
Visit to the Rock of Garda :For people who like to make an unstressful trip we suggest to visit the Rock situated between Bardolino and Garda: you may reach both lake villages walking through paths amid the unspoilt vegetation. On your arrival, either Bardolino or Garda, you can savour an ice cream, ideal for a relaxing time along the promenade.
From the top of the Rock in Manerba visitors can enjoy a breath-taking view of both lake shores. It is an overhanging rock reflecting in the water and must be seen at first light or at dusk when you wish to be alone and overwhelmed by emotion. Unique pictures must be taken on location.
Lake Tour :Stop in the more characteristic lake villages, by road or by boat: very interesting with many evocative panoramic view. Probably one day is not enough to visit the entire lake but wherever you are you will find a unique place. We suggest you carry a map and arrange breaks before leaving. You can either travel by road or by boat (in the high season this last solution allows you to avoid traffic), your trip will be in any case a great success. Do not miss the chance to see the famous Olive Riviera and the olive oil Museum.
Local markets :Every weekday morning in the different lake villages you can find local markets where you can satisfy your fancy with shopping. Here you will have the opportunity to find everything, from souvenirs to home-grown fruit and vegetables.
Lessinia Park (with the famous "Waterfalls of Molina") and Valpolicella AreaGoing away from the chaotic Lake you can reach the mountain range of Lessinia. Here you will find a natural park with its breath-taking falls easily accessible throught nature trails in the forest. Just right for nature lovers but also for families with children. You are here in the land of Valpolicella wine which you can appreciate in the several wine cellars or wine-tasting shops (its name comes from Latin word "vallis-polis-cellae" meaning "valleys full of wine cellars") together with the wines Amarone and Recioto. Very interesting landscape view over cultivation covering the plain and the terraced hills in front of the mountain range of Lessinia.
Horse riding routes :For horse trekking lovers we suggest a lot of routes on the Mount Baldo with a stop off at a shepherd's hut for lunch based on typical products next to also for our four-legged friends. An alternative tour can be done through the countryside in the southern Lake side without facing a significant commitment and having fun in the meantime.
Lake Ledro :One among the nicest and most pellucid lakes in Trentino, it is easily reachable from Riva del Garda. Clear and turquoise-blue waters where you can go for a plunge on hot summer days, for fishing, sailing or doing other water sports. The Lake Ledro is famous not only for the surrounding landscape but also for the discovery of a large pile dwelling settlement. This find is considered the largest one in Europe so rich in well-preserved artefacts.
Guided tour in Peschiera :We suggest a tour to know inside out our small town. You will hear of its historical background on the way to monuments, to the fortified walls surrounding our "Arilica", to the Austrian forts and other more interesting things walking down small streets of the centre, unknown for most of people.
Mantova, Verona, Venice :At last but not least, we suggest a visit to the towns lying near the Lake. A brief description would be in this case improper. As for all nice towns a day will be not enough for an appropriate visit, even if the short distance enables you to reach them also by train (duration to Venice and Mantova 1 ½ hour, to Verona just 15 minutes).
